About Rose Beads and Bows
My family is considered "large". I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers and we're all very close in age. All of my siblings have an artistic gift. We have several musicians, a fine art painter, a fractal artist, and a home design specialist in our family... and then there is ME. I'm the middle child. I have music capabilities, but I'm not a musician. I can paint, but not like my sister. I can do a lot of things. I have a great imagination, I'm very handy with tools, I have an IT background, and I love bling! Great attributes for someone who makes handmade jewelry!
My Journey:
Have you ever wanted that special piece of jewelry but couldn't find it anywhere? That's how my journey began 20 years ago. I was that person who wanted a specific piece of jewelry to wear with the new suit I bought. I went from store to store but couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to make it myself.
I went to a bead store and told the lady what I wanted to make and she helped me buy all the beads and other supplies for my special piece of jewelry. She gave me some great advice: "Make sure you layout your design before you start stringing...you will likely want to add or take away from the design several times." I watched hours and hours of YouTube videos on making clay jewelry, working with resin, wire wrapping techniques and everything in between. Just to let you know, my first piece turned out beautifully and I received many compliments...I knew I was hooked!!
That was 20 years ago. From then to now, it was more of a hobby, selling to friends, colleagues and family, but I've made some beautiful pieces of jewelry. You'd really be surprised at the inventory I have accumulated over the last 20 years. Hence, the Mystery Bag...I get to share my collection of jewelry, beads and findings with you in a carefully curated Mystery Bag.
When we decided to move back to San Antonio, I packed it all up and decided to get serious about sharing my designs with you. I've expanded my business to include Pet Necklaces and Boot Bows, laser cut jewelry and other home decor items. I work with a variety of mediums like polymer clay, resin, wood and a large variety of beads, crystals and gemstones. You will have fun looking through all of my pieces. No two are alike. I’m still adding new items so come back frequently.
You may see Rose Beads and Bows at the Market Day Events around San Antonio, Bulverde, Boerne, and Canyon Lake. I hope you drop by and say hello.
